Back in July I was lucky enough to have Emily with me for a weeks work experience. I was very excited at the thought of having someone with me who is interested in photography but also the responsibility of making sure it was a very worthwhile week weighed heavy! I decided we definitely needed some real shoots to go on as I think hands on experience is so important. We also had some office time as making sure you go through your photos after is also an invaluable exercise. Finally some time in front of the camera as well. So we had a pretty fun week scheduled in the end- a newborn baby shoot, wedding formals shoot, and on the second last day we spent the morning in a beautiful garden shooting each other, in the nicest possible way ;-) Emily was a natural on the shoots she came on, everyone really enjoyed her being there and were even more thrilled when they got a lovely set of photos from her too!
Debbie Jenkins is an artist who opens her garden; West Garth Cottage to the public, and she very kindly let us have the run of it for a couple of hours. It was lovely just having the time to play with poses and cameras! These are the results from that day, and a couple of film roll enders from earlier in the week. It was a great experience for me too, thank you Emily!
I was thrilled with the photo Emily took of me with my Contax, it is now my profile photo!
Contax 645. Polaroid 600SE. Kodak Portra 800. Fuji Acros. Fuji3000b. Developed and scanned by the wonderful UK Film Lab.
