Some faces of Carlisle | Cumbria Photographer

A wonder around one of my favourite areas in Carlisle. I love Foxes cafe on Abbey Street and the beautiful door ways that frame the walk down to it. The Hairdressing Room on Castle Street is I think my favourite shop fronts in Carlisle, the inside is amazing too! On this day everyone was kind enough to let me take a couple of portraits too. These are part of a long term project about photographing where I live, getting to know the people and places that make it special. There are others to look at under the post title Town Life on the side bar.

Contax 645, Canon 1V. Kodak Portra 400. Kodak Tri-x. Top 5 photos developed and scanned by FujiFilm Carlisle, the rest by UK Film Lab.

  1. Aw what a lovely blog post. When you live in a place you often forget just how beautiful it is. I have never even noticed that hairdresser! Tomorrow afternoon will be spent wondering around castle street followed with a milkshake at foxes.

    1. Thank you Michelle! It is so true, it is good to take the time and notice what we have around us. I have noticed so much more about our area through this project. Enjoy your milkshake tomorrow!! X
